A new addition to my quiver

A new supplement to make my weekends more exciting has arrived. My new 55-250 mm Lens has arrived finally!

With the amount of good snaps I could have taken with this lens, if I had this some days ago make me feel sad. Better late than ever.

Now I have no reason not to go on field for wildlife, bird and nature photography.  It makes me so excited to explore those zoom level available to capture amazing snaps.

Here is a snap captured to test my equipment.

Next week we are planning for sharavati valley trek. Will keep those posted soon.

Shades of Sky

While cycling back from my office, turning around found a clear and a beautiful lighting for perfect photography.

As hurried back to my home, took my equipments ran to the rooftop of our apartment. I thought it was a bit late, but found that I was on time for a beautiful encounter with sunset.

Started shooting with different Manual modes, got some pics with Manual, AV mode. I didn't use TV mode as I had enough time to change my settings until I get picture to my expectation.

Here are some of the pics

My cycling trip to Manchanbele Dam - nearly 60 km

My cycling trip to Manchanbele Dam

Our cycling track for the weekend was in a fix. We were in dilemma between Hesarghatta and Manchanbele Dam.

Finally, we chose Manchanbele Dam for only reason that it was near comparatively.

We started at 6.30 AM from Bangalore University. We wanted to avoid the traffic, so we took Ullal Village Main Road.

Here are the glimpse of Banglalore University at Morning.

It was unfortunate that the google maps is not equipped with Cycling tracks yet for Bangalore. We forced to land up with the Magadi Road which we wanted to avoid badly, instead wanted to go through the Tavarekere Kengeri Road.

But our GPS mislead us and landed in the crowded and pathetic Magadi Road for Cyclists.

There is alternate way as well, i.e through Mysore Road, we avoided for the same very reason "Traffic".

So, in the way to our destination, we had our breakfast in the last village where there was some decent hotel available at around 9.30 AM.

After we headed straight, cruising through the nature's beautiful village roads after passing Tavarekere, And after some point we need to take right which really is awesome track for cyclists.

Here are some of the snaps we enjoyed though the track.

After cycling for about another 75-80 minutes we reached Manchanbele Dam.

While returning we pushed ourselves hard through village roads and finally reached Banglaore University at around 2 PM.

A help doc for foodies who visit Mysore

A help doc for foodies who visit Mysore

Being a foodie, whenever I travel to some place, I feel disappointed thinking I am missing the best local foods here because I am unaware of the spots.

So I thought lets spend some time scribbling to let know the travel enthusiasts the places where they can reach and relish authentic foods in Mysore.

Lets take a 360 turn.

Breakfast, I get excited, so here is the list to give it a try

  •           GTR – Gayathri Tiffany Room for Masala Dosa

What so special? There are thousands other options available for that, you might ask. The specialty is “Saagu Masala Dosa”. Give it a try and tell me.

  •       A small shop near Agrahara

Near the area called Agrahara, you get a dosa called “Tuppa Dosa” means “Ghee Dosa”. You need to go to the heart of Agrahara and find its location.

  •         Hotel Ramya near JLB Road

Its one of the oldest and finest hotel, again ambience is ok. But the food quality is awesome. You got to taste the Masala Dosa here, its just inexplicable. Umm..

  •         Mylari Hotel

Guys, these is one of the oldest hotels in Mysore, don’t keep preconceived notion about look and ambience. You get really good Dosa here. Its somewhere near Karanji Lake.

  •         Hotel Green Leaf

It’s a good place a hang out, a decent ambience, good taste and quality food. Its in Kalidasa Road.

  •         Shanti Sagar

You know them, they are all over. You get some good stuffs to eat here as well. If need to put that down, it goes on and on.

  •          Nalapak

Its also one of the oldest brand in mysore. Recently they rebranded, you get decent good here as well. They are available in DD Urs Road, Vontikoppal.

There are lot of them, these are first that comes to mind when I think of having breakfast in Mysore.

Will get to lunch and snacks in my text post....

My Learning in Photography

My Learning in Photography

Often photographers, who tend to start would often stick to manual mode to impose themselves as Professional Photographer.

We sometimes forget we need to capture photographs which is pre-pictured in our mind about the scene beautifully.

Going behind Manual Mode would often land in not so awesome pics unless the subject remains and gives us enough time to set to get the intended picture.

So, I thought lets cross the bar of Manual, so searched a bit and started experimenting with TV (Shutter Priority)and AP(Aperture Priority).

When you are expecting a crisp and more realistic pictures, please do come out of your Manual Mode and put it on AP when you know your subject would remain for couple of seconds.

When the subject does not give any second chance again to capture the moment you could use TV.

Here are some of the pics captured using the Aperture Priority which has made that my favorite setting.

This place is Innovative Film City, Bidadi, Bangalore. Canon EOS 600D with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II Lens Kit.
