ಹೊರಕೋಣೆಯಲಿ ಲೋಗದಾಟಗಳನಾಡು||
ವಿರಮಿಸೊಬ್ಬನೆ ಮೌನದೊಳಮನೆಯ ಶಾಂತಿಯಲಿ|
ವರಯೋಗಸೂತ್ರವಿದು- ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ||

Loose translation below:
“eraDu kONegaLa neem maaDu” = you make two rooms; “manada aalayadi” = in the house of your mind.
“hora kONeyali lOgada aaTagaLanu aaDu” = in the outer room play the games asked by “life”. Meaning, do things as demanded or expected by the circumstances/society/friends in your public life.
“viramisu obbane mounadi oLamaneya shaantiyali” = in the calmness of the “inner room” rest alone! The poet might be asking us to remain unattached to others, and at the same time trying to be in a state of bliss with ourselves. We should not try searching for the happiness outside… but, within!
“vara yOga sootravidu – mankutimma” = this is the main formula of Yoga. In other words, this is the golden rule to be followed by all for the best outcome in life!
