Sharavathi Valley - 1

We started from Bangalore around 10 PM from our own vehicle. Anticipating a better experience in mind and lot of excitement our journey halted after a couple of hours to get rid of flattened tire.

But nobody had any foul thought on this. And journey resumed after a cup of tea from a so called Hotel.

The morning mist on the way to shimoga was awesome, feeling the coolness we headed to Shimoga.

And we started heading to Shimoga, and reached there by around 8-8.45 AM, where we met our guide Mr. Narayan.
Parked our vehicle, and had a decent breakfast arranged by our guide, started ascending by around 10 AM. Here are some of the pics

And we got to see a porcupine’s thorn, a bird eggs on that rocky hill just before entering the forest.

Then started an amazing grassland area, where we all rested for some time, as the mountain was at an altitude where everybody started calling their well wishers of their whereabouts, because after this you can’t find any network till dusk.

Then we entered the forest area with climbing rocks and descending on the steep regions at an angle almost 70 Degree. After 6 hours of trek, we halted at a fall for bathing and the lunch was prepared by the cook bought by our guide.

Again resuming after lunch, we started towards a place “Basavan Bai” (Bulls Mouth) which was another 4 hours of trek. Here is the glimpse

Had a sumptuous meal prepared by the local cook. Still remember the taste... YUMMY. We finally laid down in our tents

Will post more....

My cycling trip to Manchanbele Dam - nearly 60 km

My cycling trip to Manchanbele Dam

Our cycling track for the weekend was in a fix. We were in dilemma between Hesarghatta and Manchanbele Dam.

Finally, we chose Manchanbele Dam for only reason that it was near comparatively.

We started at 6.30 AM from Bangalore University. We wanted to avoid the traffic, so we took Ullal Village Main Road.

Here are the glimpse of Banglalore University at Morning.

It was unfortunate that the google maps is not equipped with Cycling tracks yet for Bangalore. We forced to land up with the Magadi Road which we wanted to avoid badly, instead wanted to go through the Tavarekere Kengeri Road.

But our GPS mislead us and landed in the crowded and pathetic Magadi Road for Cyclists.

There is alternate way as well, i.e through Mysore Road, we avoided for the same very reason "Traffic".

So, in the way to our destination, we had our breakfast in the last village where there was some decent hotel available at around 9.30 AM.

After we headed straight, cruising through the nature's beautiful village roads after passing Tavarekere, And after some point we need to take right which really is awesome track for cyclists.

Here are some of the snaps we enjoyed though the track.

After cycling for about another 75-80 minutes we reached Manchanbele Dam.

While returning we pushed ourselves hard through village roads and finally reached Banglaore University at around 2 PM.
